Before the creation of host AS Nancy, the city of Nancy has been given to football and American Nancy FC Fronti-re. FC Nancy was formed in 1901, while re-Fronti was founded in 1910 . The two clubs have been part of the League of Lorraine. Boundary re-dissolved in 1935, while FC Nancy continues to play soccer through the career transition. The club has achieved very little during his 64 years of existence only by winning the second division twice in 1946 and 1958. FC Nancy has reached the final of the Coupe de France in 1953 and 1962, however, the two appearances, the club lost to Lille and Saint - Etienne, respectively. In 1965, with the club long-term financial difficulties during the 1963-1964 season, mainly due to the abandonment of the club by the municipality of the city and its supporters, according to its president, Nancy folded just before the new season.
